CONSERVATION

As your Delegate, you will have someone working to help the 24th prosper and grow while maintaining our distinct rural heritage.

I grew up in Amherst County on the same 200 acre farm that my father and grandparents called home. At an early age I was taught not only about hard work, but about respecting our natural landscape. I learned that, treated right, the land could be bountiful. Our rivers and forests would and did provide food and recreation. Treated wrong, however, and abundance could be lost for a generation, or forever.

From Natural Bridge in Rockbridge to the fertile farmland of Augusta to Mount Pleasant in Amherst, where nearly two centuries of my family have worked the land, I know we must be good stewards of our natural resources. I refuse to allow ideology, special interests, or politics to stand in the way of that basic principle. As your Delegate I work to fight for legislation that is respectful of both the men and women who make their living from the land while ensuring our land is conserved for our children and our children's children.

I love this community. It is where I have always called home and where Laura and I decided to start our family. It is where our family business has grown, and it is where my grandfather and great grandfather's businesses prospered. I am running because I believe that when you care about something you go to work and get involved.

Together we can protect the distinct quality of life that makes home so prosperous, so bountiful, and so beautiful.
