EDUCATION

As your Delegate, the prosperity of our community will be my first priority. The prosperity of our community depends upon our ability to provide our children with the best education possible.

Like my parents and their parents before them, I studied in Amherst County Public Schools from kindergarten to my senior year. My wife teaches for our public school system, my daughter will attend these schools next year, and my son will follow two years later. We need to make providing our teachers with the necessary tools they need to teach our children our number one priority. Our economic prosperity depends on it, our community's safety depends on it, indeed, our livelihoods depend on it.

Our teachers are charged with the most challenging task of all: preparing Virginia's Future. When I am your Delegate, our educators will have a strong advocate for better pay, smaller class sizes, and healthier facilities. As your Delegate, I will lead the fight for better funding for our at-risk schools, and I will work to establish better opportunities for apprenticeships and work study programs to give our children new experiences in trades such as masonry, carpentry, and farming.

I grew up working on a job site and the education that I got outside of the schoolhouse was just as valuable as the one from inside the classroom.

It's time to go to work.
